Venting about boss? Research says choose co-workers carefully
Research by Assistant Professor Michael Baer reveals complaining about your boss might seem harmless, but the company that you keep may have a detrimental effect.
Assistant Professor of Management Michael Baer and his co-authors conducted a study to find out whether or not speaking negatively about bosses in a group created a negative atmosphere for those involved.
In this 91.5 KJZZ article published on Oct. 31, 2017:
“We found that the more employees talked about unfairness with their co-workers the more angry they were, the less hope they had, and the less they were likely to forgive their supervisors for this experience,” said the assistant professor at ASU’s W. P. Carey School of Business.
